Shaun and Sara Brentrup, opened Children's Garden Preschool in 2005. Shaun has Bachelor of Science degrees in Elementary Education and Physical Education. Sara has Associate of the Arts and Bachelor of the Arts degrees in Early Childhood Education. Both teachers are certified in infant/child CPR and First Aid. The Brentrup's are experienced curriculum writers and preschool developers.

Shaun and Sara are the only staff at Children's Garden Preschool. As of 2024, Sara is serving as the Director of Operations at the Magic City Discovery Center, but continues to co-own Children's Garden and works behind the scenes. Shaun is currently the full-time teacher at Children's Garden Preschool and the main face you'll see at daily. Sara will be a substitute teacher and volunteer on field trips so you may see her around.

To keep up with the latest trends and research in Early Childhood Education, the teachers are members of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and attend NAEYC Early Childhood Conferences and online courses for yearly continuing education. 

Sara and Shaun have 5 children, ages 10-18. Their family enjoys traveling, camping, and going to hockey games and concerts.
